Andru Volinsky Awarded Highest Rating by National Legal Organization Martindale-Hubbell

Top rating given to select lawyers throughout the U.S.

Andru Volinsky, a lawyer with Bernstein Shur in Manchester, N.H., has been awarded the highest rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the leading client development company for the legal profession in the U.S.

The AV rating “identifies a lawyer with very high to preeminent legal ability,” the organization states. The rating is part of the company’s Peer Review Rating system, which evaluates lawyers and law firms in the U.S. and Canada based upon peer review.

Volinsky’s rating will be included in the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Locator at www.martindale.com on the Lexis-Nexis service, on CD Rom and in print in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

“It’s a great honor as Martindale-Hubbell is one of the leading rating agencies for attorneys and those looking for an attorney,” said Volinsky, who serves as managing attorney in the firm’s growing Manchester office.

Volinsky, a resident of Concord, has 23 years in law and is well known in New Hampshire for his work as lead counsel for the Claremont school funding cases. He authored an article on New Hampshire’s education-funding litigation that appeared in a recent issue of the Nebraska Law Review as one in a series of articles about school funding disputes around the country.

At Bernstein Shur, Volinsky focuses his practice on employment law, commercial disputes and issues of white-collar crime. He also appeared in the most recent edition of “The Best Lawyers in America®,” another guide to legal excellence in the U.S., in three practice areas – business litigation, criminal defense, and labor and employment law.

Volinsky is a 1980 graduate of the National Law Center at George Washington University and is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

According to Martindale-Hubbell, “Peer Review Ratings attest to a lawyer's legal ability and professional ethics, and reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary. The AV Peer Review Rating shows that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence. He or she has usually practiced law for many years, and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.”

The Legal Ability Ratings are given on three levels - C - Good to High, B - High to Very High, and A - Very High to Preeminent. The General Ethical Standards Rating denotes adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities. The General Recommendation Rating is: V - Very High.

Bernstein Shur has more than 80 attorneys in offices in Portland and Augusta, Maine, and in Manchester, N.H. Clients in Manchester benefit from the support, resources, and range of legal expertise made available by one of northern New England’s largest firms. For more information, visit www.bssn.com.
