PORTLAND, Maine – Bernstein Shur has added Jonathan R. Winnick, an experienced corporate finance attorney, as a shareholder to its growing Business Law Practice Group.

Winnick will focus his practice primarily in the area of corporate trust, where he will represent financial institutions in structured finance transactions, including mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, collateralized debt obligations, and other financial assets, as well as in escrow and collateral agency arrangements and corporate and municipal debt offerings.

Winnick also has extensive experience advising corporate trust service providers on matters ranging from new issuances to Regulation AB compliance and other regulation compliance matters and administration issues. He counsels corporate trustee clients in the development of risk management and other fiduciary and regulatory compliance procedures and policies.

Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Winnick served as Senior Vice President and in-house counsel to Citi’s Agency and Trust business, where he provided legal and regulatory advice on all aspects of the business. Prior to Citi, Winnick was an attorney at Nixon Peabody in Boston, where he represented financial institutions engaged in agency and trustee services to the capital markets.

Winnick is a 1998 cum laude graduate of Suffolk Law School in Boston, and received his undergraduate degree in 1995 from Bowdoin College, where he also graduated with honors.
