10:15 a.m.: Dedication of McLaughlin Science Center

Speakers:
Keynote, Dava Sobel, author and former N.Y. Times science writer
Glen McLaughlin, venture capitalist, representing the McLaughlin family
Alan B. Ordway, Class of '58, Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Harry H. "Dutch" Dresser, Jr., associate head of school/director of studies
Daniel A. Kunkle, head of school

Ribbon cutting will be done by Ed, a robot built, programmed,and operated by students

11:15 - 12:15: Open House, McLaughlin Science Center - Laboratory demonstrations and exhibits by faculty and students.

2-3 p.m.: Opening Symposium, McLaughlin Science Center

The Future of Science Education - a panel discussion moderated by Harry H. "Dutch" Dresser, Jr., associate head of school and director of studies

Thomas Ford, parent '87, '89, former Gould physics teacher
Susan Hunter, associate professor of cell biology, University of Maine, Orono

All Weekend: Alumni Weekend coincides with the ceremony. Hundreds of alumni from across the country will be on campus. Also, fall sports teams will have games in the afternoon.
