Bank of the West Sponsors A.C.T. “Pay What You Wish Nights” Through June

Performance of “Phèdre” on Thurs., Jan. 21 to benefit San Francisco Food Bank

SAN FRANCISCO (January 19, 2010) – Bank of the West will sponsor five remaining “Pay What You Wish Nights” for the American Conservatory Theater’s (A.C.T.) 2009-2010 season with the next one being “Phèdre” on Thursday, Jan. 21.

The $15,000 bank sponsorship of the Pay What You Wish Nights enables patrons to bring non-perishable food items requested by the San Francisco Food Bank and pay whatever they wish for their tickets. There is a two-ticket limit per person and only cash is accepted. Tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. the day of each performance.

Bank of the West will sponsor the following Pay What You Wish Nights this season:
• Phèdre - Jan. 21
• The Caucasian Chalk Circle - Feb 25
• Vigil – April 1
• Round and Round the Garden – May 6
• The Tosca Project – June 10

For additional information on the performances, visit A.C.T.

“We are committed to the communities we serve and believe this is a great way to both benefit the San Francisco Food Bank and open these A.C.T. performances to more Bay area residents,” said Maria Lazzarini, head of the Bank’s Northern California Division.

Pay What You Wish tickets are offered on a first come-first serve basis and go on sale at 6 p.m. the day of the performance. Patrons will receive one ticket per single donation at each Pay What You Wish performance. If questions, the A.C.T. Box Office can be reached at 415-749-2228 for more info.

The San Francisco Food Bank’s most-needed foods include rice and pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, tuna or other canned meats, soups and stews, peanut butter and cereal.

The American Conservatory Theater is located in the heart of San Francisco at 415 Geary Street. Use Google Maps to get driving directions, or the Bay Area's 511TakeTransit Trip Planner to get public transit information. Parking is available at the Mason/O’Farrell Garage, located at the corner of Mason and O'Farrell streets. Theatergoers can park for up to five hours at the Mason/O’Farrell Garage for $10.
