PORTLAND, Maine – Attorney Jim Keenan has been elected to a two-year term on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine.

The non-profit organization provides one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers and children at risk. Persons interested in becoming a volunteer, referring a child, or obtaining more information may call the organization at 773-KIDS.

Keenan joined Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson's Portland office in 1998 and is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions practice groups. Keenan is a 1998 cum laude graduate of Boston College School of Law in Newton, Mass., and graduated in 1995 magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in Brunswick.

Originally from Standish and a 1991 graduate of Bonny Eagle High School, Keenan now lives in Gorham with his wife Carla. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Maine State Bar Association and International Trademark Association.
