Bernstein Shur Strengthens New Hampshire Practice with Top Commercial Lawyer Roy Tilsley

Continued expansion in Manchester also includes lawyer Joel Shaw

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire – Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, continued its rapid growth in New Hampshire with the addition of Roy W. Tilsley, Jr., and much of his administrative staff. Tilsley is a top corporate and commercial real estate lawyer well known in the Manchester region.

The ongoing expansion at Bernstein Shur’s Manchester office also includes lawyer Joel T. Shaw, who will work closely with Tilsley. The regional law firm, with its principal offices in Portland, Maine, now employs five lawyers at its office in the renovated Jefferson Mill.

Tilsley was formerly a principal with Bill Kelley at Kelley & Tilsley in Manchester, where over the past 12 years he became well known representing local business owners, developers, and manufacturers. At Bernstein Shur, he will continue to focus his practice on real estate, business transactions, and commercial law matters.

A Mont Vernon resident, Tilsley received his law degree, cum laude, in 1992 from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y. He received an undergraduate degree, also cum laude, in 1989 from Tufts University.

Shaw will focus his practice on business formation, real estate, securities, and related transactional matters. He is admitted to practice law in New Hampshire and the U.S. District Court.

A Pembroke resident, Shaw graduated first in his class in 2002 from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord. He received his undergraduate degree in 1997 from Boston College. Shaw is a 1993 graduate of Pembroke Academy.
