Jeffrey A. Thaler, chair of Bernstein, Shur's Environmental Practice Group, has been named treasurer and a director of the newly formed Environmental and Energy Technology Council of Maine.

The E2Tech Council is an association of companies, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations committed to advancing sustainable job growth, research and development, and new product commercialization.

The Council's role is to be a catalyst for action, and is the product of a merger of the former Environmental Business Council of Maine and the Energy Technology Center of Maine, Thaler said.

Thaler, a resident of Yarmouth, has been listed every year since 1988 in "Best Lawyers in America" for his environmental and natural resources law practice.
