PORTLAND, Maine - Charles E. Miller, a leading real estate attorney, has been named the new managing shareholder at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, one of northern New England's largest law firms.

Miller replaces Gregory A. Tselikis, who served as the firm's managing shareholder for the past 20 years. Regarded as Maine's senior legal authority in creditor litigation and Chapter 11 reorganization, Tselikis will focus on his new mediation practice.

Miller, a senior shareholder, is a member of Bernstein, Shur's Real Estate and Corporate & Business Law practice groups. He has long been recognized in "The Best Lawyers in America," "Outstanding Lawyers of America," and "Chambers-America's Leading Business Lawyers," three comprehensive national lists of top lawyers selected by their peers. Miller is a member of the Friends of Pine Tree Legal Assistance Committee and serves on the boards of The Maine Bar Foundation and the Muskie Fund for Legal Justice.

A Portland resident, Miller currently serves as President of The Jewish Community Alliance and has served Temple Beth El in many capacities, including membership on the Executive Committee, Investment Committee and Youth Commission, as well as Chair of the Endowment Committee. He also serves as a volunteer music teacher for both Congregation Bet Ha'am and Temple Beth El.

Miller received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine in 1979, a Master's in Education from the University of Maine in 1973, and an undergraduate degree from Colby College in 1969.
