Deb Whitworth of GHS Data Management Certified as Senior Professional in Human Resources
Deborah L. Whitworth, the vice president for human resources at GHS Data Management, an Augusta-based technology company part of The Waldron Group of Companies in Falmouth, has earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
The certification, awarded by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that Whitworth possesses a high level of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resources management. She passed a rigorous, comprehensive examination to become certified.
"This important achievement really confirms what we already know; Deb is one of the most highly-skilled HR professionals in Maine," said Joseph Bruno, GHS president and CEO. "With her progressive, imaginative thinking, she continues to be an invaluable asset here and throughout The Waldron Group."
HRCI is the credentialing body for human resource professionals. Its purpose is to promote the establishment of professional standards and to recognize professionals who meet those standards.
Whitworth, who joined GHS in 1999, has more than 22 years in human resources. She previously served as director of human resources at SCC, now I-Many, and as regional manager for human resources at Central Maine Medical Center. Whitworth serves as secretary of the Human Resources Association of Southern Maine, and as a director for the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management. She also serves as president of HRinME.com (www.hrinme.com), a virtual HR department available to subscribers of JOBSINME.COM (www.jobsinme.com).
A resident of Raymond, Whitworth serves as president of the Foster Family Connection. She is a 1979 graduate of Kent State University in Ohio.
