Dr. Cathra M. Chappelle, M.D., has joined Martin's Point Health Care as a family practice physician at the Martin's Point clinic in Portland.

Dr. Chappelle will specialize in family practice - with a special interest in obstetrics, adolescent health and preventative medicine - at Martin's Point, the state's largest not-for-profit primary care practice.

"Family medicine is a special career which combines my interest in science with the art of human relations," said Dr. Chappelle. "I view my role as a health care consultant who provides information for patients to make informed decisions about their health."

A native of Old Town and a resident of South Portland, Dr. Chappelle is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She received an undergraduate degree in zoology at the University of Maine in Orono, and earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington. She completed her family practice residency and internship at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
