Dr. Eric Mukai Joins Martin's Point Health Care
Dr. Eric Mukai, M.D., has joined Martin's Point Health Care as a staff physician at the Martin's Point clinic in Portland.
Dr. Mukai will practice as a primary care physician specializing in internal medicine at Martin's Point, the state's largest not-for-profit primary care practice. He previously served on the teaching faculty at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Ore., and as the medical director for MacNeal Occupational Health in Bridgeview, Ill.
"Practicing medicine allows me the privilege to help others maintain good health," said Dr. Mukai. "Both my parents were physicians, and observing the contributions they made to people's lives inspired me to pursue a career in medicine."
A resident of Cape Elizabeth, Dr. Mukai is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Mukai received an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington. He served an internal medicine residency and internship at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Ore.
