Dr. Hamid Malakpour Named Vice President/Connecticut Business Development Officer at TD Bank in Wilton

WILTON, Conn. (October 11, 2011) – TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, has promoted Dr. Hamid Malakpour to VP/Connecticut Business Development Officer. Based in Wilton, Conn., he is responsible for growing the bank’s market share for Commercial Banking loans and deposits throughout Connecticut.

Dr. Malakpour has over 24 years of experience in bank management and finance. He joined TD Bank in 2007 as a VP/Retail Market Manager after serving in a similar role at People’s United Bank in Bridgeport, Conn.

Dr. Malakpour resides in Trumbull, Conn., with his family. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. For the past 20 years, he has served as an adjunct professor at various universities in Connecticut, teaching courses on subjects including business ethics, entrepreneurship, economics, investment analysis, management theories and commercial and residential lending.

Dr. Malakpour holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership Management from the University of Bridgeport, an MBA, and a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
