Dr. Stephen Nemeroff Joins Martin's Point Health Care

Stephen Nemeroff, M.D., has joined Martin's Point Health Care in Windham as a family practice physician with a special interest in sports medicine and cardiology.

"I chose to go into medicine because of my close relationship with my grandfather, who was a very ill man," Dr. Nemeroff said. "The strong desire to improve his quality of life and to ease his suffering inspired me to become a physician. Family practice enables me to provide these services to a wide variety of patients, from newborns to great grandparents."

A Portland resident, Dr. Nemeroff is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He received his medical degree from Technion Israel Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel. Nemeroff holds an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern studies from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a master's in interdisciplinary studies in biological sciences from Touro College of Health Sciences in Huntington, N.Y. A native of West Virginia, he completed his family practice residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown and his internship in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Martin's Point - with facilities in Portland, Brunswick and Windham, Maine, and in Portsmouth, New Hampshire - serves more than 18,000 US Family Health Plan members and nearly 36,000 patients under other major commercial health plans.

With a staff of more than 400, Martin's Point serves patients in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, radiology, cardiology, and mammography, as well as other fields. For additional information, visit online at www.martinspoint.org.
