Dragon Cement and Concrete Promotes Jennifer Kimball, Hires Charlotte Lehmann

Dragon Cement and Concrete - Maine's largest concrete supplier and New England's only cement manufacturer - has named a new Quality Control Manager and a Plant Chemist at its cement plant in Thomaston.

Jennifer L. Kimball has been promoted to Quality Control Manager and Charlotte Lehmann has joined Dragon and will replace Kimball as Plant Chemist, announced Joseph M. Koch, III, the President of Dragon.

Dragon Cement and Concrete, founded in 1928, is headquartered at 38 Preble St. in Portland. Dragon employs more than 230 people in Maine and has more than 10 concrete plants located throughout the state in Biddeford, Portland, Brunswick, Lewiston, Augusta, Fairfield, Canton, Farmington, Madawaska and Presque Isle.

Kimball joined Dragon in 1997 as Plant Chemist and laboratory supervisor. She previously served as an interning engineer in the Technical Department at Simpson Paper Co. in Gilman, Vermont. Kimball is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Cement Chemists Society, the American Society for Testing and Materials, and the National Association of Female Executives.

A Rockland resident, Kimball is a 1997 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, where she earned her bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Originally from Norway, she is a 1992 graduate of Oxford Hills High School.

Lehmann, who has eight years experience as a lab manager and geochemist and 18 years as a geologist, will serve as plant chemist and laboratory manager in the Quality Control Laboratory at Dragon's Thomaston facility. She is a member of the Association of Women Geoscientists.

An Orono resident, Lehmann received a master's degree in 1991 from the University of Maine in Orono and an undergraduate degree in 1983 from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. A native of Minneapolis, Lehmann is a graduate of St. Paul Academy/Summit School in St. Paul. She is the daughter of Ernest K. and Sarah W. Lehmann of Minneapolis.
