Anthony E. Perkins, the senior technology, computer and e-commerce attorney at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, has been appointed to the worldwide Internet Advisory Council (IAC), a virtual think tank aimed at exploring corporate perceptions of technology products, vendors and trends.

The IAC is sponsored by TechnologyEvaluation.com, the premier business-to-business technology research and evaluation Internet portal. Perkins and other committee members will be called upon from time to time to collaborate on, create and answer surveys that provide insight into current markets and to author works exploring technology trends in business.

Perkins heads up TechVentures Group, LLC, a consulting affiliate of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson that provides full-service business and technical consultation to tech-based companies throughout New England. He also is an appointed member of the Blue Ribbon Commission to Establish a Comprehensive Internet Policy for the State of Maine.

Perkins joined Bernstein Shur in 1985. A resident of Gorham, he focuses his business practice on computer information technology, e-commerce and Internet law. Perkins currently serves as chair of the Maine State Bar Association's Computer and Internet Law Committee and chairs the law firm's technology practice group. A 1982 graduate of Colby College in Waterville, he received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1985.
