Energy Lawyer Daniel E. Harris Joins Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson

Attorney Daniel E. Harris has joined the statewide law firm of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson as special counsel in the firm's Energy and Utility Practice Group. Harris will practice in the area of public utility, energy, environmental and regulatory law and serve in the firm's Portland and Augusta offices.

Formerly the vice president/general counsel for ABB Combustion Engineering Services in Windsor, Conn., Harris has practiced law for 37 years. He is a 1962 graduate of Yale Law School and a 1959 graduate of Yale University with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering. Harris is a member of the executive committee for the Yale Law School Alumni Association.

Harris began his professional career in intellectual property law and general practice in Hartford. He served as deputy mayor of Bloomfield, Conn., for five years and served on the Connecticut Bar Association's Committee on Professional Ethics and Continuing Legal Education Committee. Harris also served as corporate counsel for Western Union Corp., and joined ABB Combustion Engineering Services in 1983.

Harris will reside in Bath until his family's new home is completed in Boothbay.
