Frenchville Youth Among Winners in Dragon’s Annual Safety Poster Contest

Fifteen-year-old Nicole St. Pierre of Frenchville was among the six winners named in Dragon Cement and Concrete’s annual safety poster contest, aimed at promoting safety in the workplace as well as at home.

The annual contest is open to children of the 220 Dragon employees throughout Maine. This year’s contest attracted 50 entries, marking record participation in the event.

St. Pierre won in the category of Best Slogan. She is the daughter of Jean Yves St. Pierre, who works in Dragon’s concrete plant in Madawaska. Her slogan is: Those Who Work the Safe Way, Live to Work Another Day.

Other winners included Sammie Stearns, 5, and Sasha Barbour, 16, both of Rockland; Claire Lupien, 6, of Waldoboro; and Mark, 8, and Matt Small, 11, brothers from Yarmouth. Each participant received an L.L. Bean fleece vest. The winners also received a $75 gift certificate. Winning posters can be viewed on the company’s web site at www.dragonproducts.com.
