Hanson, Cunningham, Lipp, Hodgins Named Shareholders at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson

Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson attorneys Tom S. Hanson, Gregory M. Cunningham, Frederick L. Lipp and Michael A. Hodgins have been named shareholders at the statewide firm, one of the largest in northern New England.

Tom S. Hanson, a member of the firm's Commercial Department, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial real estate and general commercial law. He joined the firm in 1996.

Hanson, a resident of Portland, is a 1995 magna cum laude graduate of Vermont Law School in South Royalton. He received a master's degree in 1992 from the Hubert Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota and received his undergraduate degree in 1988 from Middlebury College in Vermont.

Gregory M. Cunningham is a member of the firm's Municipal and Governmental Services Department and its Environmental Practice Group, practicing in the areas of land use, environmental and municipal law. He joined Bernstein, Shur in 1998.

A resident of North Yarmouth, Cunningham is a 1988 graduate of Colby College. He earned his law degree from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, N.H. in 1993 and a master's degree in environmental and land use law from Vermont Law School in South Royalton.

Frederick L. Lipp is a member of the firm's Commercial and Corporate Department, concentrating in the areas of business start-up and acquisition, commercial law, and high-tech and international transactions. As a former trial lawyer, he also combines his commercial and litigation backgrounds in providing legal solutions to a breadth of individuals and organizations. He joined the firm in 2000.

A resident of New Gloucester, Lipp graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in 1988 and received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1991.

Michael A. Hodgins is a member of Bernstein, Shur's Litigation Department, practicing from the firm's Augusta office. He represents contractors, manufacturers and suppliers in construction related matters, municipalities in land use and other litigation, as well as businesses and individuals in general civil litigation, including personal injury. Hodgins joined the firm in 2000.

A resident of Pittsfield, Hodgins is a 1990 graduate of Dartmouth College and received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 1993.
