John Arnold has joined Stratex, LLC, a Portland-based strategic, environmental technology consulting firm, as an environmental consultant.

Stratex, LLC, is associated with the statewide law firm of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson. The company provides technical expertise and project development for established and start-up companies, and for municipal and governmental clients in need of cooperative buying and technical, engineering, regulatory and facility planning.

Arnold will provide strategic advice to clients on environmental compliance, and on community and government relations. He is currently working with the executive management staff at Maine Yankee in Wiscasset as part of decommissioning efforts at the nuclear power plant. Stratex is assisting Maine Yankee with environmental permitting issues related to the closure of the power plant.

Before joining Stratex, Arnold, a resident of Camden, worked at Maine Yankee for 16 years as a special projects coordinator, a senior environmental engineer and a public affairs director. A former U.S. Navy officer who served aboard the USS Gato, a nuclear submarine, Arnold received a master's degree from the University of Rhode Island, and received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.

Stratex, LLC, located at 100 Middle St. in Portland, provides municipalities and private businesses with technical, engineering and development services for existing and new projects, including energy, utility, electric, hydro, telecommunications, intellectual property and real estate development.
