Kiwanis Bike Rodeo & Family Safety Day Set for Saturday, May 22 in Brunswick
Martinâs Point Health Care among sponsors of the annual event, featuring bike obstacle course, safety tips and prizes
Children of all ages and their parents are invited to attend the 11th annual Kiwanis Bike Rodeo & Family Safety Day, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 22 at the St. Charles Church parking lot (132 McKeen Street) in Brunswick.The event, sponsored by Martinâs Point Health Care, the US Family Health Plan, the Kiwanis Club of Brunswick and the Brunswick Police Department, will feature an "awesome" bike obstacle course and free bike inspections in addition to presentations and information about important safety topics, including seat belts, fire safety and poison control.
The popular event also will include drawings for bicycles, gift certificates and other prizes as well as free hot dogs, pizza, soda and ice cream. Mascots including McGruff, Sparky and Slugger also will be on hand to delight children. Each child who completes the bike obstacle course will receive a certificate.
The Freeport and Topsham police departments and the Brunswick Fire Department also are assisting with the event. The rain date is June 5.
