Press Conference Friday with Elite Athletes for 7th Peoples Beach to Beacon 10K

Note: Important Photographer’s Meeting at Noon Friday to get Finish Line assignments (see below)**

WHAT:Press Conference with Elite Athletes, Race Officials and Peoples Heritage Bank representatives. (Some top Maine runners have also been invited.)

WHEN:10 a.m., Friday, July 30

WHERE:Inn by the Sea, Route 77, Cape Elizabeth, under the tent on East Lawn

WHO: Speakers will include:

• Race President Dave Weatherbie
  
• Peoples Heritage Bank President Mike McNamar
  
• Race Director Dave McGillivray
  
• Race Founder and Olympic legend Joan Benoit Samuelson
  
• Elite Athlete Director Larry Barthlow, who introduces elite runners

The Press Conference is open to all media (race credentials not necessary); refreshments will be served.

** Finish Line meeting with camera people and photographers who plan to cover the finish will be held at noon Friday, after the press conference, at the Finish Line area at Fort Williams. Pizza and drinks to be served.

Reminder to media credentialed for the media truck to meet at the Cape Elizabeth High School parking lot at 6:30 a.m. to board the media truck at 6:45 for a ride to the start at 7.

NOTE: The official name of the race is the Peoples Beach to Beacon 10k Road Race. And remember, the race is on a Sunday this year, Aug. 1, as previous media communications have outlined.
