Martin's Point Radiology Department Receives National Accreditation

American College of Radiology issues latest assessment

PORTLAND, Maine - The Radiology Department of Martin's Point Health Care, Maine's largest primary care service, has received its fourth consecutive accreditation from the American College of Radiology.

The accreditation, issued in March, is conducted every three years to assess mammography-imaging capabilities.

"Breast health remains a significant issue for women and their families, and this acknowledgment from the ACR reinforces our commitment to quality mammography services," said Dr. David Howes, Martin's Point president and chief medical officer. "It's also an indication of the outstanding performance of our radiology team."

The Radiology Department staff includes Holly Glidden, department manager; Jessie Cash, Janice Faessler and Marlene Hult, radiology technologists; and Alice Hamilton, radiology clerk.

Martin's Point is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation's predominant standards setting and accrediting body in health care.
