Martin’s Point ‘Weighty Matters’ Support Group Starts July 15

Sessions to focus on non-dieting approach to weight management

Martin's Point Health Care will offer a weight management support group beginning Thursday, July 15 on the main campus at 331 Veranda Street in Portland. The sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on July 15, August 19, and September 16.

"In an atmosphere of nonjudgmental compassion, weight management issues will be presented and discussed. This program uses a non-dieting approach to deal with the issues that are preventing a healthy relationship with food,” said Leigh Kirchner, Senior Health Educator at Martin’s Point, adding that the first three sessions will look at: ‘The Healing Power of Groups,’ ‘Natural Ways to Relax,’ and ‘Getting Motivated to Move.’ ”

All sessions are open to the public. People of all sizes are welcome and confidentiality is honored. The program will be facilitated by Joyce Sarat White, MA, LPC.

To register for the program, which is $10 per session, call the Martin's Point Health Education Center at 207-828-2497 or 1-800-322-0280. Online registration is available at www.martinspoint.org.
