Matthew P. Lynch has joined Dragon Cement and Concrete as the Purchasing & Distribution Manager based in the company’s Thomaston plant. His responsibilities will include managing the cement plant’s purchasing department, including the stockroom. In addition, he will oversee the expanded distribution system for cement shipments, which entails managing Dragon’s cement fleet, coordinating with contract trucking firms and overseeing Dragon’s rail and barge operations.

Dragon operates the only cement manufacturing facility in New England in Thomaston and is the largest supplier of ready-mix concrete in Maine.

Lynch has more than 20 years of experience in distribution, logistics and international trade. He most previously served as the director of material logistics at Irving Tanning in Hartland and prior to that directed global logistics for Warnaco Group Inc. of Milton, Conn.

A Union resident, his interests include swimming, landscaping for wildlife, and organic gardening. Lynch is a 1977 graduate of Nasson College in Springvale.
