Peoples Opens New Brunswick Branch

Peoples Heritage Bank has opened a new, 4,500 square foot branch in the Cook's Corner area of Brunswick. Located at 10 Tibbett's Drive (formerly Bath Rd.) in the Wal-Mart Plaza, the branch opened for business Oct. 15.

A ribbon cutting and open house will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6 to formally mark the opening of the new facility. At the event, Peoples senior officials will present a $1,000 check to the Tedford Shelter, a homeless shelter in Brunswick. Local officials also are expected to attend the event, which is open to the public.

The new branch is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the drive-up window is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturdays, the branch is open from 9 a.m. to noon, and the drive-up window from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

The branch offers a full line of banking services, including small business lending, consumer loans, mortgages, commercial loans, private banking, investments and insurance.

In addition, the branch features a conference room that is available for use by the public. The facility has five teller windows, a waiting area and four private offices for loan officers and banking personnel. It also has a drive-up ATM and two drive-thru lanes.

The building was constructed by R.E. Management, Inc. and was designed by Financial Concepts, Inc. The branch manager is Jason Norton, a vice president at the bank.

"We're very excited about the new branch," said Michael W. McNamara, president and CEO of Peoples Heritage Bank. "It's a growing area, and we felt it was time to better serve our customers with a larger, newer branch at Cook's Corner."

Peoples' other branch in Brunswick, located in the downtown Hannaford supermarket on Maine Street, will remain open to provide a downtown location as well as evening and Sunday hours.
