Placement of Mile Markers Marks Countdown to TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race
Race set for Saturday, Aug. 7, in coastal Cape Elizabeth, Maine
The traditional countdown to the TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race has begun with the placement of brand new Mile Markers along the coastal course in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Cape Elizabeth Public Works employees Ken Young (left) and Darren Brown install the marker at Mile 1 near Inn by the Sea along Route 77. The signs display the new logo for the popular 13-year-old race, set for Saturday, August 7. The race, which will include some of the worldâs top road racers as well as recreational runners from throughout the region, begins near Crescent Beach and ends at the Portland Head light at Fort Williams Park. The eventâs lead sponsor is TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, one of the 15 largest commercial banks in the U.S. with more than 1,100 convenient locations from Maine to Florida. The 2010 race beneficiary is Junior Achievement of Maine.
