Placement of Mile Markers Marks Countdown to TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race
Race set for Saturday, Aug. 6, in coastal Cape Elizabeth, Maine
The traditional countdown to the TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race began Wednesday (July 6) - exactly one month from race day - with the placement of Mile Markers along the coastal course in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Cape Elizabeth Public Works employees Jason Emery (blue ball cap) and Darren Brown installed the markers along the route for the popular 14-year-old race, set for Saturday, August 6. The race, which will include some of the worldâs top road racers as well as recreational runners from throughout the region, begins near Crescent Beach and ends at the Portland Head light at Fort Williams Park. The eventâs lead sponsor is TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, one of the 10 largest banks in the U.S. with more than 7.4 million customers at more than 1,250 convenient locations from Maine to Florida. The 2011 race beneficiary is Day One.Photo courtesy of Ann Kaplan of Photography by Ann Kaplan in Cape Elizabeth, Maine
