DMSE is celebrating 30 years of producing events on March 12 in Quincy, Mass.
Invitation to 30th Gala March 12 at the Quincy Marriott

Dear Friends of DMSE:

This year, DMSE is celebrating its 30th year of producing events – from the Bay State Triathlon at Wright’s Pond in Medford, Mass. in June, 1982 with a mere 100 participants, to the hugely popular TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K and of course the B.A.A. Boston Marathon -- we've come a long way.

With your help, DMSE has produced or consulted on close to 900 events since it began planning events in 1981, helping to raise the level of self-esteem and self-confidence of thousands of people throughout the U.S. and abroad. But more importantly, we’ve helped raise millions of dollars for dozens of worthwhile causes from around the country.

On Saturday evening, March 12, 2011, we will celebrate 30 years of DMSE history and you’re invited. Please join us by registering online at www.30yearsrunning.org. We are inviting past participants, staff, consultants, media, sponsors, celebrities, family and special friends. The gala will benefit the DMSE Children's Fitness Foundation and, in particular, our relatively new "Running In Places" program.

The evening should be full of fun, laughter, surprises and seeing old friends – and feature a wonderful audio-visual presentation reliving all the good times we have shared. Toni Reavis, nationally recognized race announcer, will be the Master of Ceremonies along with DMSE's own Jack Leduc.

Appearing and speaking at the gala will also be 4-time Boston Marathon winner Bill Rodgers, Ironman Champion Karen Smyers and the inspirational father and son duo, Rick and Dick Hoyt. Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino is also scheduled to make an appearance at the gala.

Additionally, we will be having a silent auction with numerous attractive prizes from celebrities like Matt Damon and Lance Armstrong with all proceeds to benefit the DCFF. Each attendee will also receive a traditional race "goodie bag" loaded with fun and unique gala gifts in addition to an official "30th" gala t-shirt, bib number and even a special medal.

Again, our web site is www.30yearsrunning.org. Log on and register today – we’d love to see you there. We are also asking everyone to "spread the word" to folks who have been involved with DMSE over the years but who we may not have current contact information for. So feel free to forward this email to anyone you know who has either been involved with DMSE in any capacity or who has competed in DMSE events over the past 30 years. There is a capacity limit so the sooner you register the better.

A lot has happened in 30 years...the challenge will be trying to encapsulate all of it in one memorable evening. Hope to see you there!
