Ram Management Company Signs Cytyc Corporation to 145,527 Square Feet in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Cytyc lease brings the major redevelopment at 445 Simarano Drive to 100 percent occupancy

Scarborough, Maine-based Ram Management Company has announced the signing of Cytyc Corporation to 145,527 square feet at 445 Simarano Drive in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The company joins Cascade Promotions Corporation to bring the approximately 180,000 square foot property to 100 percent occupancy, said Brian A. Gagne, Ram's executive vice president of acquisitions and development.

Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Cytyc Corporation is a leading provider of surgical and diagnostic products targeting cancer diagnostics and women’s health. The company is listed on the NASDAQ exchange.

Ram purchased the vacant property in January of 2005 and immediately began a complete renovation of the former Stop & Shop warehouse.

Gagne said the project is part of Ram’s continued effort to acquire properties to improve and develop throughout New England and South Florida.

“Massachusetts continues to be the logical place for our expansion into Southern New England,” Gagne said. “Our recent acquisition in Wakefield, Massachusetts, coupled with our existing portfolio in the region, has put us in a strong position to continue to gain market share. Our goal is to acquire properties to upgrade that add value to our portfolio and the communities we work in. This significant lease with Cytyc proves that the Massachusetts market is strong.”

Gagne added that Ram is in the process of working on several other properties for acquisition.

Jim Thompson of Cushman & Wakefield represented the building owner, 445 Simarano Drive, LLC, a Ram affiliated entity. Cytyc also was represented by Cushman & Wakefield.

Well known throughout Maine, New England, and Europe for much-acclaimed retail, residential, industrial, and office developments, Ram also is presently in the design and approval stage for a $55 million industrial development in Miami. The firm was the original developer of factory outlets in Kittery and Freeport, Maine as well as in England, Europe, and Israel. Ram’s past work also includes the redevelopment of 21 buildings in Portland’s Old Port area.
