Rincon/University High School Students Present “Arts Under the Stars” this Saturday, May 5 in Tucson

Student art exhibit and musical concert free and open to the public

TUCSON (May 1, 2012) – Arts Under The Stars, a student art exhibit and musical concert, will begin at 6 p.m. this Saturday, May 5, in the cafeteria at Rincon/University High School. The Tucson event is free and open to the public.

“This has been a wonderful school tradition for more than 53 years. It’s an art exhibit and a beautiful concert that includes all of our award winning Fine Arts groups at Rincon and University High - Choir, Band, Orchestra, Drumline, Flags, Dance, Visual Arts and Drama,” said Mareena Boosamra Ball, Director of Choral Activities at Rincon/University High School.

Art Under The Stars set for Sat., May 5 at Rincon/University HS in Tucson. The Art Exhibit and food vendors will begin at 6 p.m. and the choir will begin at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria, followed by various other performances throughout the campus by the other groups. Rincon/UHS is located at 421 N. Arcadia Ave., one block east of Swan.

The Finale of the night will include the Band, Orchestra and Choir performing the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Jay Reese, head of Marching Bands at the University of Arizona.

Admission is free, but food and beverages are available for cash purchase. Parking is in the east lots off of Arcadia. For additional information, contact the RHS/UHS Choir Office at (520) 232-5831.
