Peoples Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race Saturday, Aug. 4

Runner Registration: Located in the Cape Elizabeth Middle School multi-purpose room, runner registration will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. Runners pick up t-shirts, bib numbers and info packets at the school. Open to the media.

Expo: Held in the Cape Elizabeth Middle School Gymnasium, the Expo will this year feature vendors such as the National Running Center (selling clothing, shoes), Clifbar, Big Sky Bread Co. (sandwiches, cookies, breads, etc) Maine Track Club, Portland Trails, Cool Shades (sunglasses) Running Times, Peoples Heritage Bank (selling race logo items and clothing). Race t-shirts also will be distributed to runners in the gym during the Expo, so all runners will come by to collect their shirts. Contact Marji Adams for more info on the Expo, 781-2167. Pre-Race Press Conference: 10 a.m. Friday August 3 at Inn by the Sea, on Route 77 in Cape Elizabeth. Speakers include Race President Dave Weatherbie, Race Director Dave McGillivray, Peoples Heritage Bank Chief Banking Officer David Ott, Peoples Heritage Bank President Mike McNamara, Elite Athlete Director Larry Barthlow, race founder and running legend Joan Benoit Samuelson, and elite runners from around the world with their host families.

Post Race Press Availability: Around 9 a.m. the morning of the race, after the winners cross the finish, we will have press availability outside the media tent. This year, we will not hold a press conference in the tent but instead have tables set up for each winner and press may gather around to do one on one or small group interviews throughout the morning.
