TD Bank Group Promotes Bill Martel to Vice President, Head of Large Enterprise Technology Programs

PORTLAND, Maine (May 29, 2015) – TD Bank Group has promoted William (Bill) H. Martel to Vice President, Head of Large Enterprise Technology Programs.

In this newly established position, Martel will have senior leadership accountability for the Technology Integrations and Conversions Program Office and the Center of Excellence for Transformational Program Management within the Office of the CIO. Based in both Portland, Maine and Toronto, Canada, he will serve as the Program Delivery Lead for an enterprise-wide, multi-year transformation program that will enhance the agility, speed and innovative capabilities of TD's Technology organization.

Martel has 18 years of banking experience. He joined TD Bank in 1997 as a Store Manager in Rockland, Maine, before moving into operations and technology management, where he has served as a Senior Technology Manager in various capacities, including as a Vice President, Program and Portfolio Management. Martel most recently served as Head of Integrations & Conversions in the Corporate Department.

A resident of Saco, Maine, Martel received a doctorate (2010) in Workplace Leadership & Business Ethics from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass.; an MBA (2004) from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine; a master’s degree (1993) from Gordon-Conwell Seminary; and an undergraduate degree (1991) in mathematics and computer science from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.

Martel is originally from Rockland, where he is a 1987 graduate of Rockland District High School.
