Tickets For Maine State Ballet's "Nutcracker" On Sale Now

PORTLAND, Maine (October 28, 2003) - Tickets for The Maine State Ballet's Nutcracker are on sale now at Portland's Merrill Auditorium. This year marks the company's 21st year for the holiday classic, which features more than 200 dancers and students from the Maine State Ballet, the Maine State School for the Performing Arts and other Maine dance schools.

Performances of the Nutcracker at the Merrill Auditorium at Portland City Hall will be held:

Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 to $40 at the Merrill Auditorium box office, by calling PortTix at (207) 842-0080, or online at www.porttix.com.

Established in 1986, Maine State Ballet has become the leading professional dance company in the State of Maine. In addition to the holiday classic Nutcracker, Maine State Ballet's repertory also includes full-length ballets A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cinderella, CoppŽlia, Don Quixote, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland.
