Two New Doctors - Kimberly MacDonald and John Johnstone - Join Martin's Point in Brunswick

Kimberly MacDonald, M.D., and John Johnstone, D.O., have joined Martin's Point Health Care in Brunswick. MacDonald is a primary care physician specializing in pediatrics, and Johnstone is a family practice physician with experience in occupational medicine and urgent care.

Martin's Point - with facilities in Portland, Brunswick and Windham, Maine, and in Portsmouth, New Hampshire - serves more than 54,000 patients in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, radiology, cardiology, and mammography, as well as other fields. For additional information, visit online at www.martinspoint.org.

Dr. MacDonald said, "The relationship with my patients and their families is a partnership in which we can work together and learn from each other to provide the best possible care."

A resident of Freeport and native of Montana, Dr. MacDonald is Board Certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois, and earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. She completed her pediatric residency and internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Johnstone said his interest in medicine started at a young age.

"I remember going to the hospital as a child while my mother practiced as a nurse and meeting the doctors and nurses and seeing firsthand the important role they played in the lives of their patients," he said. "I believe in listening to what the patient has to say - they know themselves better than anyone else."

A native of Texas and a resident of Harpswell, Dr. Johnstone is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and earned his medical degree from North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. Dr. Johnstone completed his family practice residency from Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
