Two Yarmouth brothers were among the winners in Dragon Cement and Concrete’s annual safety poster contest, aimed at promoting safety in the workplace as well as at home.

The annual contest is open to children of the 220 Dragon employees throughout Maine. This year’s contest attracted 50 entries, marking record participation in the event. Area winners included:

Best Artwork for Ages 5-8: Eight-year-old Mark Small of Yarmouth, son of Travis Small, who works in Dragon’s Portland headquarters.
Best Artwork for Ages 9-11: Mark’s brother, 11-year-old Matt Small.

Other winners included Sammie Stearns, 5, and Sasha Barbour, 16, both of Rockland, Claire Lupien, 6, of Waldoboro and Nicole St. Pierre, 15, of Frenchville. Each participant received an L.L. Bean fleece vest. The six winners also received a $75 gift certificate. Winning posters can be viewed on the company’s web site at www.dragonproducts.com.
