Attorneys Richard Ploss and Paul Greene Join Preti Flaherty's Portland Office
PORTLAND, Maine Attorneys I. Richard Ploss and Paul J. Greene have joined the Portland, Maine office of Preti Flaherty. Ploss will practice as Of Counsel and Greene will practice as an Associate.
I. Richard Ploss will focus on estate planning and administration, fiduciary income taxation and probate litigation as a member of the firms Estate Planning and Business Law practice groups. Ploss brings a strong background as solo attorney to the firm, having practiced for nearly 16 years in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he focused primarily in the areas of estate planning and estate administration.
In addition to his law practice, Ploss is a Certified Public Accountant (Georgia) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Certificant. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Georgetown University, where he taught the estate planning and capstone case courses in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) programs. He is also an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Financial Planning at Fordham University, where he presently teaches the estate planning and capstone case courses in the CFP® programs. Ploss is also the Chairman of the CFP® Board of Standards, Council on Examinations on which he also serves as the estate planning subject matter expert. Ploss is a 1990 graduate of Emory University School of Law (J.D.), a 1985 graduate of Tulane University (M.B.A.) and a 1980 graduate of Bucknell University (B.S.). He is re-locating to the Greater Portland area.
Paul J. Greene is a member of Preti Flahertys Business Law and Bankruptcy Law practice groups, where he counsels both companies and individuals. He also practices litigation and sports law. In his sports law practice, he focuses in the areas of Olympic doping and eligibility arbitrations and immigration issues specific to the sports world. Prior to launching his legal practice, Greene was an award-winning sportscaster. His on-air career began in Maine and also took him to a college sports network based in New York City. He remains connected to his former career in broadcasting by teaching as an Adjunct Professor in Media Studies at the University of Southern Maine.
Greene is a 2007 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, a 1995 graduate of Syracuse University and a 1993 graduate of Brandeis University. He resides in Falmouth, Maine.
