Brenda J. Lagerson has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Loan Operations Department at Banknorth Group, Inc. in Lewiston. An applications support analyst, she will continue to provide analytical and programming support for Banknorth's consumer loan system.

Lagerson joined Banknorth in 1991 and has 10 years in banking. She has previously served as a real estate compliance specialist, an investor accounting specialist, a secondary market clerk and a secondary market sales clerk. She began her banking career as a teller for Peoples Heritage Bank, a Banknorth subsidiary. Mark L. LaPointe has been named assistant vice president of consumer loans at Banknorth Group, Inc. in Portland. He will continue to be responsible for acquiring consumer loan contracts for the company throughout New England.

Patricia M. Libby has been promoted to vice president in the Human Resources Department at Banknorth Group, Inc. in Portland. She will continue to provide general human resources support for Banknorth in areas such as employee recruitment, benefits and compensation.

Brian E. Owens has been promoted to assistant vice president in the eCommerce Development, Cash Management and Small Business Banking departments at Banknorth Group, Inc. in Portland. He is responsible for strategically researching, defining, developing and implementing online functionality in his role as an e-commerce consultant to cash management and small business banking.

Larry D. Pelletier has been promoted to senior vice president at Banknorth Investment Management Group, N.A. in Lewiston, a subsidiary of Portland-based Banknorth Group, Inc. He will oversee business development and sales activities in Maine as well as the administrative services throughout the state.

He received industry certifications in 1992 from the Cannon Trust School in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and in 1993 from the Cannon Trust School of Advanced Administration at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, N.C.
