Attorney Michael A. Fagone has joined the Commercial Department at the statewide law firm of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson. He will concentrate his practice on bankruptcy and general commercial law.

Prior to joining Bernstein, Shur, Fagone practiced bankruptcy law at a major law firm in Boston. He also has served as a law clerk to Maine Supreme Judicial Court Justices Robert W. Clifford and Leigh I. Saufley, and as a faculty member in the Master of Science Taxation Program at Thomas College in Waterville. Fagone is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, and the Maine and New Hampshire Bar Associations.

Fagone is a Portland native and grew up in South Portland, graduating from South Portland High School in 1989.
He is a 1993 graduate of Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., and earned his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, graduating summa cum laude in 1997.
