Cereza Oilcloth Studio Donates Aprons to Casa Maria
Tucson artist founded Cereza last September; makes Mexican oilcloth aprons
TUCSON (May 24, 2016) - Sherrie Posternak of Cereza Oilcloth Studio LLC, has donated 38 oilcloth aprons to the soup kitchen at Casa Maria, 352 E. 25th Street in Tucson. The kitchen is open from 8:30- 11:30 every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas, serving hundreds of meals to anyone in need.
Posternak founded Cereza Oilcloth Studio (www.cerezastudio.com) in September 2015, designing brightly designed and functional accessories made of Mexican oilcloth for women, men, and the home. She buys the materials in Mexico City, Leon and Nogales, Mexico and has partnered with a seamstress in Nogales, Mexico for the production of her products.
Casa Maria’s mission, as part of the lay catholic worker movement founded in 1930, includes works of mercy, peace and justice.
