Also in 2000, won the Boulder 10K and the Nissan 5K and finished second at Falmouth, Peachtree, Boilermaker 15K and Cherry Blossom 5M. Ran world best at Peachtree in Atlanta in July of 1996, a world best mark only recently broken. Also holds world best in the 12K (33:31). Ranked first in world rankings in 1999 and second in 2000.

Finished second in 1999 New York City Marathon and sixth in 1999 Boston Marathon.
