Feaster Five Thanksgiving Day Road Race Features Mobile Lockers, Training Runs, Running Legends at Expo

Runners and walkers also can save $5 on 5K/5-mile registration by signing up at www.feasterfive.com by midnight on Oct. 31

ANDOVER, Mass. (October 28, 2014) – This year’s Feaster Five Thanksgiving Day Road Race will offer mobile lockers for participants who want to safely store and easily access extra layers of clothes or other personal items before and after the race.

The lockers are available in varying sizes with rentals starting at $5 on site, or they can be rented online in advance for a 20 percent discount at www.themobilelockerco.com. Small lockers are ideal for cell phones, keys and a layer of clothes while larger ones will fit bulkier items or a gym bag.

Registration for New England’s largest and most festive Thanksgiving Day running event continues at www.feasterfive.com. 5K/5-mile participants will save $5 if they register by midnight on Friday (Oct. 31).

Also, the Merrimack Valley Striders will continue to hold fun and free Sunday morning training sessions for Feaster Five runners of all fitness levels leading up to race day.  Participants meet at the Start Line at Shawsheen Square at 8 a.m. each Sunday. The Feaster Five is a Thanksgiving Day tradition for families and friends across the region. The mood is fun and festive and every race finisher goes home with an old-fashioned apple pie provided by Table Talk, a long-time New England favorite.

Feaster Five Thanksgiving Day Road Race is one of the largest and most festive holiday road races in New England.

Hosted by the Merrimack Valley Striders and managed by DMSE Sports, the Feaster Five Road Race’s 5-mile and 5K races will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Kid’s Fun Run at 7:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.  All three races – which welcome walkers as well – begin on Main St. in Andover at the corner of Route 133 and Route 28 and finish at Brickstone Square. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Merrimack Valley YMCA, Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm, Bellesini Academy and the Merrimack Valley Striders.

On-site registration, bib and t-shirt pickup and the Feaster Five Expo Thanksgiving week – featuring sponsors, vendors and a host of running legends – will take place in a new location at the Sakowich Center at Merrimack College this year. Runners are invited to stop by Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 24 -25) from noon until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday (Nov.  26) from noon until 6 p.m.
