Fun-filled Family Activities for July 3 Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 - 5K & 10K Kick Off Monday at Patriot Place in Foxboro July 3, with Fireworks, Music and Food, Registration Still Open

Three days of activities capped by post-race live music and spectacular fireworks show over Gillette Stadium

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (June 30, 2013) –Three days of family festivities in Foxborough get underway Monday for the Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 – 5K & 10K, capped by live music and a fireworks show over Gillette Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Online registration for the popular road race ends Monday (July 1) at 9 a.m., but runners can still sign up in person at registration during the fun-filled Harvard Pilgrim Fitness Expo and activities July 1-2 and on Race Day July 3 at Patriot Place. 

Online registration open for Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 at Patriot Place in Foxborough, MA on July 3.Both the 5K and 10K races end on the Gillette Stadium field with an exhilarating 50-yard-line finish as every runner’s image is broadcast on the stadium’s two giant HD video screens to the cheers of thousands in the stands. More than 6,000 runners from across New England already are registered.

Pre-race activities during the three-day family event that gets under Monday afternoon at Patriot Place include music, food, entertainment, sand sculpting, face-painting and a fitness expo, plus a Kids Fun Run on the Gillette Stadium field at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The road races start at 5:30 p.m. (5K) and 6:30 p.m. (10K). Following the races, everyone is invited to stay for live music and fireworks above Patriot Place. The following roads in Foxborough will be closed from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for the 10K:  North Street, from Putnam Parkway; Young Road; Edwards Road (from Young Road # 27). Other roads affected off of Young Road (no exit) are McKenzie Lane, Munroe Street, McCasland Way, Camp Road and Ashcroft Lane.  

Charities benefiting from race proceeds this year include: New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, Metrowest YMCA, Hockomock Area YMCA and the Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers. The race is owned and managed by Professional Race Events, LLC, a collaboration between Mike St. Laurent of Loco Running and Dave McGillivray of DMSE Sports.
