Jeffrey A. Thaler, a leading environmental attorney in the state, has again been appointed adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland to teach the Environmental Law course to law students. He also taught the course last school year.

Thaler, who has been listed in every edition of "Best Lawyers in America" since 1988 in the area of environmental law, is a litigation attorney and shareholder at the statewide firm of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, one of Maine's largest law firms. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and is Chair of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court's Advisory Committee on Professional Responsibility. In addition to his environmental work, Thaler works in the areas of business and personal injury law, and is a frequent lecturer to legal and citizen groups.

A resident of Yarmouth, Thaler is a 1974 magna cum laude graduate of Williams College and received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1977.
