McDonald, Gulino, Boak Join Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson

PORTLAND, Maine --- Attorneys Paul McDonald, Leonard M. Gulino and Scott W. Boak have joined the statewide law firm of Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, one of northern New England's largest firms.

Paul McDonald has joined as a shareholder in the firm's Litigation Department. He will concentrate his practice in complex commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, telecommunications, loan workouts and other contract disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, McDonald had a private commercial litigation practice, serving clients throughout the Northeast and Midwest in state and federal court proceedings. He previously practiced as a litigator at major law firms in New York and Philadelphia.

A Cape Elizabeth resident, McDonald is a member of the American Bar Association and the Maine State Bar Association. He received his law degree in 1986 from Rutgers University Law School in Newark, N.J., and is a 1981 graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.

Leonard M. Gulino joined Bernstein, Shur as a shareholder in the Commercial Department. He will focus his practice in business, bankruptcy and commercial litigation, including shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of contract actions and related commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Bernstein, Shur, he served for 11 years as a member at another Maine law firm. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Maine State Bar Association.

A Cape Elizabeth resident, Gulino received an MBA in 1985 and a law degree in 1984, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a member of the board of directors and the executive committee for the Spurwink Institute, and serves on the advisory committee for Mainebiz, a Maine business publication.

Scott W. Boak will practice in Bernstein, Shur's Energy Law Department and Litigation Department. He will concentrate his practice in federal, state and regional electric utilities regulation.

Boak most recently served at Allen & Weathington in Atlanta, where he was an associate attorney in litigation.

A resident of Portland and a native of Chicago, Boak received his law degree in 1997 from the William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Va., and is a 1993 graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
