Todd Holbrook Named Shareholder at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson

Todd S. Holbrook, an attorney with Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, has been named a shareholder of the firm. Holbrook is a member of the Litigation Department at BSSN and practices in the areas of intellectual property, products liability and general commercial litigation.

Holbrook, a leading computer and technology lawyer in Maine, is chair of the Electronic Commerce Forum of Maine (EC4ME), a statewide non-profit group that brings businesses, government and other organizations together to exchange knowledge about and promote the use of electronic commerce technologies. He is past chair of the Maine State Bar Association Committee on Computer Law and the Internet.

Recently, Holbrook wrote one of eight chapters in the "Scientific Evidence and Experts Handbook," a new, up-to-date reference guide for lawyers in complex litigation matters. His chapter covers pretrial preparation in scientific evidence cases and also provides timely analysis of the recent Supreme Court case, Kumho Tire Company v. Carmichael and its likely implications.

Holbrook, a resident of Falmouth, joined Bernstein Shur in 1994. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1992, where he graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Order of the Coif. A 1987 cum laude graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Holbrook received a master's degree in physics from Wesleyan University in 1990. Originally from Hallowell, he is a member of the American Judicature Society, the Maine Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Prior to joining BSSN, Holbrook served as a clerk for the Honorable Daniel E. Wathen, Chief Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson is one of Maine's largest law firms with more than 60 attorneys in offices in Portland and Augusta. The firm provides legal services in all major subject areas, including corporate and commercial law, litigation and trials, municipal and governmental affairs, and tax and estate planning. BSSN also has an active practice in health law, environmental law, technology and commerce, employment law, securities law, legislative law, intellectual property, public utilities and other regulated industries.
