VP at Banknorth Insurance Group Receives Risk-Management Designation

Richard P. Crossman among elite group in New England

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - Morse Payson & Noyes, an affiliate of Banknorth Insurance Group in Portland, announced today that Richard P. Crossman, a vice president and commercial account executive, has received the national designation of Certified Risk Manager (CRM).

Crossman, who oversees insurance programs for Banknorth Insurance Group's commercial clients throughout New England, was one of only 21 insurance professionals in the region last year to hold the CRM designation. To receive this certification, he completed a rigorous five-course program that included examinations on subjects such as risk-management essentials, risk analysis, risk control, risk financing and risk administration.

Crossman joined Banknorth Insurance Group in 1979 and has 23 years in insurance. A Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), he handles large commercial accounts, with a special interest in marine-related risks.

A resident of Camden, Crossman serves on the board of the Eastern Maine Development Corp., Northeast Health and Camden Health Care. He is the assistant varsity coach for the girls' basketball team at Camden Hills Regional High School. Originally from Vinalhaven, he is a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono and Vinalhaven High School.
