TD Banknorth Offers Scholarships to Maine Nonprofits

Portland, Maine – TD Banknorth announced today that it has provided nearly $25,000 in scholarship funding to various nonprofit organizations wishing to attend the NeighborWorks® Training Institute in Boston, Mass., June 20 – 24, 2005. In Maine, TD Banknorth has awarded scholarships to Penquis CAP in Bangor and Peoples Regional Opportunity Program (PROP) in Portland.

The NeighborWorks® system consists of NeighborWorks®America, local NeighborWorks® organizations and the Neighborhood Housing Services of America. The Training Institute, widely recognized as the source of premier community development training, offers a comprehensive range of courses and an unequaled opportunity to learn from experts and peers in the field of community development. It provides a broad curriculum for nonprofits to explore, such as affordable housing, asset management, homeownership and community lending, leadership management and neighborhood revitalization.
